Summer or Winter Brandy Slush
Gina Tonn
Brandy slush has been a summer staple in my family for as long as I can remember. My grandma reliably pulled from the freezer one batch made with brandy in a plastic ice cream pail and one batch made without brandy in a Cool-Whip container for Memorial Day, Fourth of July, even a casual summer weekend. The first year I celebrated the winter holidays with my in-laws, I discovered they were also a brandy slush family – but it wasn’t limited to only warm weather. This recipe, pictured below from the family cookbook my grandma compiled in Microsoft Word – along with THE ice cream scoop referenced in the recipe – reminds me of family and celebrating time together all year round.
